The new mom and dad didn’t share photos of their son right away, but, instead, tried to give themselves a little privacy before letting the world into their lives. “So this past month and a half, we’ve tried to keep Shai for ourselves, like our little secret that only we get to enjoy — but babies aren’t secrets, and keeping him hidden away forever isn’t realistic or healthy.
Now, after taking as much time as we could to enjoy these precious first moments of his life, we’re finally ready to share Shai with the world,” Murgatroyd wrote in a blog post.
The couple decided on the name Shai (pronounced Shy) which means “gift” in Hebrew.
“Honestly, [it’s] a perfect fit because from the very beginning, we felt like this little life we made was the most perfect gift God could grant us.
However, the two didn’t exactly lock eyes and fall in love.
“I thought he was arrogant,” Murgatroyd told People Magazine in December 2015, recalling her first impressions of her husband-to-be.

According to Glamour, the ring appears to be an “emerald-cut center stone between 3 and 4 carats in a dramatic split-shank setting with pave diamonds encrusting the band.” back in 2009.
As far as the baby’s name goes, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd thought long and hard about the perfect moniker for their son.
They originally liked the name Kai, but a friend of theirs named their son Kai, so that name was out.
She made her debut as a reporter for the network’s national hockey league coverage and later offered commentary for ESPN’s College Football Thursday and Saturday Primetime telecasts.
