It would be odd if Amsterdam was priced at a premium to Paris, despite the 75% longer journey time. Will the exceptional value redemptions to the south of France survive?
Good to not have to travel far, but since you are travelling I wouldn’t object to something more exotic, and warmer. I had a full-packed program with 4 days of tutorials, workshops, tracks, short talks, test-labbing, conversations, so in total it is quite […] At Euro STAR 2009 I will present “More and Better Test Ideas“; the main idea being that testers could generate many different types of test ideas, and communicate them in a condensed one-liner format.
If you have great tips on how to come up with really good test ideas, or want to review the paper I’m […] This years Euro STAR took place in den Haag, a city that had quite some rain, but also beautiful autumn leaves, and big churches.
The ‘load factor’ is a lot lower than that of the major airlines, partially because it cannot switch between shorter and longer trains at different times of the day.
There will always be plenty of redemption seats available.
Going forward, Eurostar Frequent Traveller will be picking up a lot of new members from the Netherlands, Germany and elsewhere.
This requires a programme with a far broader range of redemption options.
These were priced the same as the Paris trains for simplicity.
Frankly, the main reason that I doubt Eurostar will leg you over is that the trains are not full.
With a bigger membership, it also makes it easier to arrange points earning partnerships with hotel and car hire brands.
