I'm not sure when I'll be up to it, but I want know that whenever I want to start dating that it might be possible.
I've not really 'dated' as such (the couple or three formal 'dates' I've been on in my life were pretty tragic! I've been separated for almost 18 months, haven't dated in over 15 years and the thought of putting my 40 something self out there terrifies me. I think confidence counts for more than your age or size. He is smart, funny, 6'4" and looks like a 1940s film star.
) - but I've done lots of activities, joined clubs, been involved in sport and so on. He doesn't have a 'fat fetish' he just liked me - individually - as a human. When you've regrouped and got your headspace together again you'll know how to 'get out there'.
But that's not to say that there aren't men out there that aren't so focused on body size, but the odds IMO are reduced. To use a crass term, sometimes the best way to get over a man is to get under another. OG, I think a lot of the angst with size and online dating is the fact that some people are not honest about it, use old pictures or funny angles. If you are just honest and upfront, with realistic pictures, I am sure you won't have any dramas. In high school a guy and I would just get together. I have no idea so before heading into the world to date again I'm d like to research it a bit.
I've already figured stuff out for if I need some casual thing.
Personality, brains and conversational skills count for much more on a date than a slim figure in my experience.
I am honest about my size and my photos are current.I'm not aware of your relationship history but maybe give yourself some time.Think about what you're looking for in a partner.I found online dating to be an emotional roller coaster, something I had to carefully manage. I will preface by saying that living in inner Sydney, most people I know are skinny.Yet, my best friend is what you can call "chubby" and she is in a very happy relationship with an attractive, decent man. No matter your size, shape or look it's a numbers game. When the time came to remove clothing I knew that as he had already accepted me dressed, then undressed would only be better.
